William W. Griffith

William W. Griffith, age 81, of Marysville, died Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Memorial Gables. He was a longtime maintenance supervisor at Westreco and Nestles in Marysville and a former maintenance associate of Westinghouse. He was a graduate of Chuckery Darby High School where he was a standout basketball player. An avid fisherman, he also enjoyed socializing with his good friends and family. He was especially supportive of his son’s music ventures. He attended Marysville Church of the Nazarene and liked volunteering at Memorial Gables. He was born April 7, 1937 in Chuckery, Ohio to the late Evert and Margie Wells Griffith. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Betty Brown; two nephews Gene Brown and Joe Griffith; and a niece Sue Mullins. He is survived by his daughter, Marlene (Jon) Young of Peachtree City, Georgia and his son, Mike (Debbie) Griffith of Marysville; four grandchildren, Ashley and Michael Young, Stephen Griffith and Michaela (Kenny) Cordle; his step-grandchildren, Jimmy (Lisa) Davis and Chris (Amy) Davis; his great-grandchildren, Ronan and Evee Cordle; his step-great-grandchildren, James, Ruthie, Maggy, Molly and Cooper Davis; his brother Don (Pat) Griffith of Tennessee; three nephews, Steve Brown, Ronnie Griffith and Kenny Griffith; and many other relatives and good friends. Funeral services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Underwood Funeral Home where the family will receive friends beginning at 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Marysville Church of the Nazarene.
