Tracy Machelle Liggett DeGood, age 56, of Ostrander, died peacefully Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was a managerial associate of OCLC in Dublin for over 30 years. A 1980 graduate of Marysville High School, Tracy received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Ohio University in 1984. As a youth, she was a standout softball, basketball and volleyball player and during high school, was selected as an All-Union County basketball athlete. She was a member of the Stocksdale Dollarettes softball team during the 1980s and enjoyed coaching YMCA youth baseball and volunteered for various charities throughout the years. Tracy was a lover of nature and animals and found true companionship in her pet dogs, “Dish” and the late “Woodrow.” One of her greatest joys was the game of golf, especially with her late husband, John. They also participated in co-ed softball for many years. She was a member of Millcreek Wednesday evening ladies’ golf league since 2002. Although Tracy was a proud “Bobcat” and occasional Raiders fan by default, she was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes. She will be most remembered for her deep, unwavering friendships, compassion for children and untiring devotion to her family and those she loved. Even in her final hours on earth, she felt the desire to “play catch” with her little great-nephews. She was born September 15, 1962 in Marysville and was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, John R. DeGood; her father, George Liggett; and her sister, Cindy Liggett Scheiderer. She is survived by her mother, Darlene Henson Liggett of Marysville; her sisters, Kelly (Mark) Daum of Marysville and Lori (Brent) Baughman of Louisville, Kentucky; her step-daughter, Jennifer (Dell) Sikes of Macon, Georgia; her nephews and nieces, Jason (Jennell) Daum, Megan (Chase) Blackburn, Kaylee Daum, Ben Baughman, Will Baughman, Kaysi (Aren) Carducci and Chris Scheiderer; her great-nephews, Landyn, Bentley and Wyatt; an aunt, Anna Jean Scott; an uncle, Clarence Henson; and many other relatives and friends, including her devoted co-workers and “sisters” in her golf league. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Underwood Funeral Home where the family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. Rev. Kathy Reiff will officiate. Interment will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to “Blackburn Chasing The Cure.” Contribution envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Tracy’s family wishes to acknowledge the tender support of Loving Care Hospice. Condolences may be made to www.underwoodfuneralhome.com.
