Thomas “Tom” Russell Pollard, age 78, of Marysville, died Friday, April 22, 2022 at Memorial Gables. He was a retired warehouse associate of O.M. Scott and Sons. An employee from 1966 to 2003, he was a member of the Scotts 20-Year Club. In 1964-65, he worked as a draftsman at The Ohio State University. Following his retirement, he worked at Marysville Walmart as cart pusher and greeter. A 1962 graduate of Columbus North High School, he was a veteran of the Ohio Army National Guard. He was a member of Marysville Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1651 where he was Junior Governor in 1989-90 and District 8 Vice-President in 1991-92. He also was a member of the Moose Ritual Team which received many top honors. Tom was an avid Ohio State football and basketball fan and loved golfing, bowling and traveling to Disney World and Las Vegas. Above all, he was deeply devoted to his wife, children, step-children, grandchildren, step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. He was born March 28, 1944 in Columbus to the late Russell and Kathryn Pope Pollard. He was also preceded in death by his aunt, Lois Pope, who raised Tom and his siblings following the early death of his mother; and a brother-in-law, Gary Tate. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Beverly Gay Barker Pollard, whom he married December 17, 1994 in Watkins; two daughters, Lori (Eric) Light and Gail (George) Pyers, both of Marysville; his step-children, Dawn Barker and Brian (Melissa) Barker, both of Marysville; his grandchildren, Taylor, Wes and Gracie Pyers, Collin (Jenna), Elizabeth and Jase Light; his step-grandchildren, Dale Barker, Bethanie (Brody) Clark, Brenden Barker and Christian Robinson; his step great-grandchildren, Violet, Malcolm and Melana; his siblings, Jack (Jessica) Pollard of Columbus, Judy (Dave) Obert of Obetz and Bill (Becky Baird) Pollard of Columbus; a brother-in-law, Thomas (Cathy) Tate of Memphis; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2022 at The Vine Church of Marysville, 309 South Oak Street, where the family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. and following the service at a luncheon for all attending. Memorial contributions may be made in Tom’s memory to Loving Care Hospice, The Vine Church of Marysville or American Cancer Society. Underwood Funeral Home is assisting the family.
