Thornton Keith Eversole, 83, of Florence, South Carolina, formerly of Marysville, died Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Presbyterian Community of South Carolina. Deeply dedicated to his family, he attended Springdale Baptist Church. A professional auto painter, he worked for General Motors and also enjoyed restoring classic cars and trucks. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Panama during the Korean War. He was born one of eleven children on November 12, 1929 in Hazard, Kentucky to the late Isaac and Sally Baker Eversole and was also predeceased by his wife of 47 years, Garnet R. Wright Eversole; and his siblings, Gene and Ruth. He is survived by two sons, Brian (Bertie) Eversole of Florence, SC and Ron (Ammie) Eversole of Greensboro, NC; three grandchildren, Tyler, Marissa and Zachary; his siblings, Christine, Vera, Carolyn, Bob, Paul, Joyce, Lois and Annie; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Whittington; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Springdale Baptist Church where the family will receive friends beginning at 9 a.m. Rev. Steve Waltman will officiate and burial with military honors will be at Mt. Herman Cemetery. Arrangements are being completed with Underwood Funeral Home.
