Tara Michelle MacBlane, age 33, of Columbus, died unexpectedly Friday, November 19, 2021 at Mt. Carmel Hospital. A server at Boston’s in the arena district, she attended Upper Arlington High School. A volunteer at MaryHaven, she was also an AA sponsor. Tara was known as an encourager and a guiding light for many who struggled with addiction. She will be especially remembered for her outgoing personality and her generosity. She was born November 8, 1988 in Libertyville, Illinois and was preceded in death by her grandparents, Earl and Edith MacBlane and John and Sophie Szostek. She is survived by her companion, Mario Cunningham, Sr.; her sons, Jayden Johnson and Mario Cunningham; her parents, Earl and Patricia MacBlane of Upper Arlington; a sister, Denise (Ken) Baum of Rockford, Illinois; her nieces and nephews, Aliceya, Kaylee, Aubree, Jonathan, Michael and Caden; aunts and uncles, Nancy and Rick Scarci, Bill and Susan Szostek, Corrine Molinari and Robert (Mary Lou) Szostek; many cousins, including Anthony Scarci and his son, Ricky; and many friends, including Megan Austin and Jessie Rouda. The family will hold private services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tara’s memory to Autism Society of Central Ohio, P.O. Box 272, Worthington, Ohio 43085.
