Shirley Wood Stepp

Shirley Wood Stepp, age 59, of Arivaca, Arizona, formerly of Marysville, died Sunday morning, August 28, 2016 at Tucson Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona. Known as a traveler and for having a 1970’s style of her own, she cherished the mountains and loved the southwestern village she resided in for the past 25 years. She especially appreciated the peacefulness and beauty of the area and the free and easy people who lived in Arivaca. She was known as a great cook and was famous for her own recipe biscuits and gravy. She was born July 11, 1957 in Marysville to the late Willard R. and Lois Andrews Wood. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Lois Ann Bosh; and two nephews, Mark Fraker and Kenny Wood.  She is survived by her daughter, Angela Rae (Joel) Johnston of Battle Mountain, Nevada; two grandchildren, Shawna Rae Green and Allen Joshua Wood, both of Battle Mountain; a great-grandson, Lukis Ray Stedman; two sisters, Penny Wood of Marysville and Cathy (Harold) Fraker of Marion; a brother, Gene (Karen) Wood of Newark; a niece, Shuree (Oscar) Paz of Marion; and several great nieces and nephews.  A memorial service celebrating her life will be held 6 p.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at The Vineyard Church in Marysville, Ohio. Steve Wood will officiate. Following cremation, her ashes will be scattered over the Mesa Mountain in Arivaca, Arizona. Underwood Funeral Home is assisting the family.
