Ruth Ann Kushlan Waite, age 94, of Marysville, formerly of Barberton, died Thursday, March 19, 2020 peacefully at her home. She was a retired associate of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company where she was a shipping clerk for 34 years. Born and raised in the Catholic faith in Altoona, Pennsylvania, Ruth was a former member of St. Augustan’s Catholic Church in Barberton and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Marysville. Known for her great cooking skills, she was famous for her large family meals and delicious baked goods and desserts. A accomplished musician, she was gifted on the piano and organ. She was a fan of Liberace, Elvis and the Cleveland Indians and enjoyed nature, especially birds. She will be lovingly remembered for her Christian faith, charitable giving and devotion to her family. She was born July 27, 1925 in Altoona, Pennsylvania to the late Frank and Julia Ford Kushlan. She was also predeceased by a number of siblings. She is survived by her son, John W. (Lori) Waite of Marysville; her daughter, Grace Ann Borrell of Maryland; her twin grandsons, Michael and Matthew Waite; granddaughters, Shanna and Leah Borrell; a sister, Jean Wertz; and several nieces and nephews. The family will gather 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at Underwood Funeral Home. Following the calling hours, graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Cemetery. The Rev. Fr. Kevin A. Kavanagh will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Union County Loving Care Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.underwoodfuneralhome.com.
