Roberta Louise Kruger Ronschke, age 70, of Marysville, died peacefully Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Memorial Hospital of Union County. An educator for over 30 years, she was a preschool teacher and founded the Mt. Calvary Nursery School in Cleveland. She received a bachelor’s degree from Concordia Lutheran College in Seward, Nebraska. Roberta was a member of Living Word Lutheran Church in Galena. She enjoyed gardening, reading and sharing the Metro parks in Cleveland and Columbus with her late husband, Bill. They were also passionate volunteers for children, libraries and gardening. Above all, she was devoted to her family and a true servant of the Lord. She was born July 8, 1948 in St. Clair Shores, Michigan to the late Robert and Pauline Maas Kruger. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Paul Ronschke, whom she married January 31, 1971 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Roseville, Michigan. She was also preceded in death by her firstborn son, Jeremy David Ronschke. She is survived by her children, Jodi (John) Nicol of Marysville; Joel (Shanna) Ronschke of Columbus and Joshua (Rachael) Ronschke of Lakewood; four grandchildren, Leah, Chloe, Layla and Levi; her siblings, Susan (Gene) Pauli of Sterling Heights, Michigan, Christine (John) Pustelny of Oxford, Michigan, Sarah (Stephen) Howard of Mt. Clemens, Michigan and Robert (Robin) Kruger of Copley; her sister-in-law, Paula Birr of Brunswick; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 12826 Lorain Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44111. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral service. Rev. Derrick N. Hurst will officiate and burial will follow at Lutheran Cemetery, 4566 Pearl Road, Cleveland, Ohio. 44109. Calling hours will also be held 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at Underwood Funeral Home in Marysville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
