Robert S. “Steve” Hines, 58, of Marysville, died Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Memorial Hospital of Union County. He was a shipping and receiving manager at the Marysville Goodyear plant (Veyance Technologies) where he worked for 38 years. He was a former volunteer firefighter with Leesburg Township. As a 1971 graduate of North Union High School, he was a member of Buckeye Boys’ State. He enjoyed golfing, riding his motorcycle and was a big Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He was born July 10, 1953 in Delaware and was predeceased September 4,2002 by his father, Robert E. Hines; his grandparents, Glenn and Carrie Hines and Ralph and Pauline Wood; and aunts and uncles, Clara Mae and Glee Baker, Helen and Elden Goldsmith, Glenn Hines, Jr. and Kenneth Wood. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Finley Hines, whom he married March 20, 1999 in Marysville; his children, Christopher Taylor and Ashley Taylor Conran; four grandchildren, Christopher, Cameron, Ella and Peyton; his mother, Helen Wood Hines of Somersville; a brother, Roger Hines of Indian Lake; a sister, Linda (John) Miller of Richwood; a niece, Lori (Jim) Durst of Marysville; two nephews, Kirby and Cody Hines, both of Bellefontaine; his father-in-law, James (Roseanna) Finley of Georgia; his brothers-and sisters-in-law, Susan (Gene) Wells of Missouri, James (Angie) Finley of Reynoldsburg and Bill Finley of Kentucky; his aunts and uncles, Wanda Foreman of Mt.Victory, Richard (Janet) Wood of Marion, Donna (Jack) Engle of Broadway, Nancy Wood of Delaware and Twila Hines of Richwood; and many cousins and other relatives. The family will receive friends 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Underwood Funeral Home, 703 East Fifth Street, Marysville. Memorial contributions may be made to Union County Cancer Society.
