Robert McKinley “Bobby” O’Connors, age 87, of Marysville, died peacefully Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Ohio Living-Sarah Moore House in Delaware with his loving family by his side. He retired in 2009 from the State of Ohio where he served as electrical inspector and supervisor for 21 years. Following his schooling at Columbus East High School, he began his career in the electrical trade and had his own businesses in Columbus for many years. Prior to working for the state, he owned Gatsby’s Pub in Marysville. Of Irish Catholic descent, he was a former member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Reynoldsburg. He was a member of Marysville Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 1651, Union Local #683 of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and International Association of Electrical Inspectors. A lover of animals, he and his beloved wife, Rowena, rescued and loved many pet dogs and cats throughout the years. A heavyweight boxing fan and Ohio State and Notre Dame fan, he was known as an honest, hard-working man who was dearly devoted to his family and friends. Bobby will especially be remembered for his storytelling and humorous fabrication of jokes and pranks. He was born July 13, 1935 in Wheeling, West Virginia and was predeceased by his father, William McKinley O’Connors and his mother and step-father, Ruth Craig and Eddie Rieser; his son, Brian Sean O’Connors; his siblings, Rose Bodish, Donna Cowan, Ruth Ann Rieser, William “Billy” O’Connors, Donald “Donny” Craig and Tommy O’Connors; his father-and mother-in-law, Jim and Martha Estepp; a brother-in-law, Mike Blevins; and a sister-in-law, Janie Blevins. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Rowena Blevins O’Connors; his daughter, Nikki O’Connors of Grove City; his son, Robert “Chris” O’Connors (Tonya Knox) of Marysville; his grandchildren, Jessica, Kyle, Shain (Natalie), Adam, Nick, Tommy, Caleb and Chase (Brie); five great-grandchildren; his brother, Benny (Peggy) O’Connors of Marysville; his in-laws, Gay (Jerry) Curtis, Susie (Chuck) Jolliff, Mark Blevins (Robin) and Matt Blevins (Donna); and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. The family will receive friends 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 2022 at Underwood Funeral Home where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, November 11, 2022.
