Rickey A. Shuler

Rickey A. Shuler, age 63, of North Lewisburg, died unexpectedly Monday, January 14, 2019 at Memorial Hospital in Marysville. He was a former associate of Midwest Express Inc. and a former associate Nestle and Scioto Valley. He attended Fairbanks schools and was a veteran of the United States Army. He served in Korea and Germany from 1970 to 1974. He was a member of Marysville VFW Post 3320, Marysville Eagles Lodge Aerie 3506 and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 1651. He had a passion for motorcycles and was proud of his several Hondas. A devoted family man, he enjoyed fishing, his dogs and dearly loved spending time with his grandkids. He was born July 16, 1955 in Columbus to the late Clarence and Tillie Ebright Shuler. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Shuler; his step-mother, Anna Shuler; his sister, Roxanne Dixon; and his brothers-in-law, John Dixon, Donald Smith and Luke Spillman. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carmen L. Cooper Shuler, whom he married December 27, 1974 in Milford Center; his children, Doug (Nicole) Shuler of Urbana, Tracy Shuler of North Lewisburg and Chad (Shawna) Shuler of North Lewisburg; eleven grandchildren, Allen, Emily, Carrie, Dakota, Gage, Jade, Olivia, Jonah, Caden, Ashton and Meaghan; his siblings, Bonnie Spillman, Julia Smith, Ronald (Diana) Shuler and James Shuler; his brother-in-law, Keith (Kylie) Cooper; and nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends, including Kim Gordon. The family will receive friends 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Underwood Funeral Home. Following the visitation, friends are invited to join the family at the Moose Lodge for food and fellowship. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
