Richard Leo Wolford, age 70, of Randleman, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at his home. A retired associate of Technimark in Asheboro, North Carolina, he was a former associate of O.M. Scott and Sons. Known to his family and friends as “Dick,”, he was a 1970 graduate of Marysville High School, he was a veteran of the United States Army and served with the Ohio Army National Guard. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan and enjoyed the music of Elvis Presley. Above all, Dick cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was born December 13, 1949 in Columbus to the late Eugene and Helen Brumfield Wolford. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Larry Wolford. He is survived by his wife of almost 48 years, Deborah Kise Wolford, whom he married January 9, 1973 in Milford Center; his son, Shawn Wolford of Randleman, North Carolina; his daughter, Ginger Saunders of Conover, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Justin, Cindy, James, Jason, Destiny and Jacob; two great-grandchildren, Brealyn and Mason; his brother, Earl Wolford of Marysville; his sisters, Shirley Faiella of Nevada and Cheryl Gysegem of Columbus; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews and other relatives. A funeral procession will form at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July22, 2020 at Underwood Funeral Home which will proceed to Broadway Cemetery for a 1:30 p.m. graveside service with military honors. The family will host food and fellowship afterward at the Milford Center Lions Club.
