Richard Allen Bauder, age 81, of North Lewisburg, died peacefully Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at his home following a short illness. A lifelong farmer, he grew up on the Bauder dairy farm in Powell. He assumed the family’s dairy operations until 2002 when he and his family moved to Plain City and established a dairy farm there. He retired in 2008 and moved to North Lewisburg. A graduate of Olentangy High School, he attended The Ohio State University and was a member of West Liberty United Methodist Church. He always had a passion for horses and horse racing. A veteran of the United States Army, he was born December 13, 1938 in Columbus, Ohio to the late L. Ward and Alice Schmehl Bauder. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Esther Lombard Bauder; a brother-in-law, Mark Rush; mother-in-law, Mildred Conklin and mother-and father-in-law, Beulah and Robert Lombard. He is survived by his sons, Richard “Todd” (Terri) Bauder of Nebraska, Ronald “Tim” (Linda) Bauder of Cable, Jarrett (Misty) Bauder of Westerville and Justin (Sarah) Bauder of Marysville; his grandchildren, Christian Bauder, Rebecca (Matthew) Mau, Joshua (Emilee) Bauder, Leah Bauder, Courtney Bauder, Ethan Bauder, Abigail Bauder and Isabella Bauder; a step-grandson, Christopher Bradley; his great-grandchildren, Levi, Simeon, Anna and Esther Mau, Liam and Nevaeh Bauder and Eleanor Bauder; his step-great-granddaughters, Bailey and Violet Bradley; his sister, Marcia Rush; and numerous brothers-and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends including, his former wife, Janet Conklin (Keith) Ott; and special friends, Judy Householder, John Predmore, Ashley Mayse and Wyatt and Weston Predmore. The family will receive friends 11 to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Underwood Funeral Home. Private interment was held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Delaware.
