Randy Mac Spain, age 66, of West Mansfield, died unexpectedly Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at his home. He retired from Parker Hannifin in Marysville where he was an associate for 47 years. He began his career at the company, formerly known as Denison Hydraulics, where he established many long-lasting friendships. A 1974 graduate of Marysville High School, he enjoyed the outdoors, especially in the blaring sun. He liked gardening, feeding the deer in his backyard and spending time with his canine companion, Gunner. Randy exemplified growing up in the 1970’s in Marysville – cruising the DQ in his 1974 Chevy Nova SS, listening to classic rock and raising a shot of Jack Daniels with friends. He adored his five grandsons and was so proud of his three children. He was born February 7, 1955 in Marysville to the late Robert and Marie DeGood Spain. He is survived by his daughters, Lyndsay (John) Moore of Marysville, Nicole (Matt) Lanning of Springboro and his son, Zach Spain of Springfield; his grandsons, Gavin, Lucas and Aiden Moore and Carter and Colby Lanning; his brother, Rick (Cathy) Spain of Milford Center; his sister, Joy Morrison of Medina; and many nieces, nephews and special friends, including Betsy Spain of Marysville. The family will receive friends 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Underwood Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made in Randy’s memory to Union County Cancer Society or Union County Humane Society. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.underwoodfuneralhome.com.
