Paul H. Scheiderer, age 74, of Marysville, died unexpectedly Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. A man of solid Christian faith, he was a lifelong member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church where he was baptized on July 18, 1942, confirmed March 25, 1956 and attended grade school. He graduated in 1960 from Chuckery Darby High School, the last class to graduate from there. A lifetime resident of Union County, he retired October 1, 2016 from Dayton Power and Light Company where he worked for 48 years as a serviceman. He enjoyed his retirement dinner with colleagues the day before his death. Besides being a big Ohio State fan and a longtime league bowler, golfing was his favorite pastime. In collaboration with his close golfing friends, he was instrumental in the creation of Blues Creek golf course. He served with the Ohio National Guard. Above all else, family was his deepest priority. He cherished years of gatherings with family and friends at Indian Lake. Although known for his quiet nature, he will be most remembered for his unique sense of humor, contagious positive outlook and dedication to his work. He was born July 6, 1942 in Union County, Ohio to the late Harry and Frances Kasper Scheiderer. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Scheiderer; a brother-in-law, Larry Spicer; and his mother-and father-in-law, Evelyn Zell and Fred Zell. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Janet Zell Scheiderer, whom he married January 9, 1965 at Trinity Lutheran Church; his daughter, Julie (Jamy Pfarr) Ellerbrock and his son, Greg (Barb) Scheiderer, both of Marysville; four grandchildren, Jayson (Kaylee) Scheiderer, Kyle Ellerbrock, Kendal Ellerbrock and Hannah Scheiderer; three great-granddaughters, Lillian, Miah and Norah Scheiderer; three sisters-in-law, Judith Scheiderer of Marysville, Marilyn Spicer of Novi, (that state up north) and Judy (Jack) Hawkins of Dillon, Montana; aunts and uncles, Marjorie Scheiderer, Gertie (Ludlow) Nicol and Norma Burns; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and loving friends. The family will receive friends 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Underwood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Rev.
