Norma Jeanette Kear Sellers, age 92, of Marysville, died peacefully, Thursday, May 14, 2020 at Woodland Country Manor in Oxford, Ohio. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she was a longtime member of Marysville First United Methodist Church. As a child, she grew up in Wharton, Ohio where she graduated in 1945 from Wharton High School. Following graduation, she worked as a clerk at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton. Later, she was an associate at Delco Products of General Motors and attended Sinclair College for clerical courses. She married the love of her life, the late Gene Sellers, and raised three boys in Marysville while Gene was an associate of O. M. Scott and Sons. She also worked as a treasurer’s clerk for the Marysville School Board for many years. In addition to her involvement with her church, she also volunteered at Memorial Hospital of Union County in the health center. She was also a former Welcome Wagon Hostess in the Marysville area and enjoyed being a cub scout den mother. A member of Circle of Remembrance of the Order of King’s Daughters and Sons, she enjoyed playing golf, bridge, participating in euchre club and liked to play canasta. She was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes. She traveled the world extensively with Gene during their retirement. She will be remembered as a woman of gentle spirit, with a deep devotion to her family, friends, church and community. Born November 26, 1927 on her family’s farm in Wyandot County, Ohio, she was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Floyd Kear; her mother Esther Otella Koehler Kear; her husband of 61 years, Earnest Eugene “Gene” Sellers whom she married September 18, 1954 at Grace Methodist Church in Dayton; and her siblings Alice Motter, Wayne Kear and Donna Marshall. She is survived by three sons, Scott (Julie) Sellers of Oxford, Ohio, Keith (Beverly) Sellers of Fort Thomas, KY and Michael (Lynne Paschal) Sellers of Mendocino, California; five grandchildren, Shannon (Kyle) Phillips, Jacob Sellers, Ethan Sellers, Noah Sellers and Betsy Sellers; a sister-in-law, Ann Sellers; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and wonderful friends. A funeral procession will form at 1 p.m., Thursday, May 21, 2020 at Underwood Funeral Home for graveside services at 1:30 p.m. at Oakdale Cemetery. Rev. Peggy Hoy will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Marysville First United Methodist Church or Memorial Hospital. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
