Nancy Darlene Rea Pfarr, age 87, of Marysville, died in her sleep on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Walnut Crossing Assisted Living. She was a cafeteria cook at Trinity Lutheran School for over 40 years. A longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, she served in many activities, including church choir, altar guild and helped prepare congregational dinners and funeral luncheons. As a community volunteer, she shared her seamstress skills, creative and artistic flair and recipes. She was a 20-gallon Red Cross blood donor, a woman’s league bowler and a member of OCCL Mother’s Study League. As the wife of an auctioneer, she helped her late husband, Dick, with auction clerical duties and snack bars. She also enjoyed her “retirement job” at Cline’s Plant Farm working alongside her niece, Pam. She will be most remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was born on Independence Day, July 4, 1934 in Pomeroy, Ohio to the late Stanley Ernest and Lillian Virginia Dean Rea. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. “Dick” Pfarr and her younger sister, Janet Ferrera. She is survived by three children, Deana (Nevin) Pfarr-Taylor of Marysville, Rick (Tami) Pfarr of Marysville and Amy Pfarr of Delaware; her grandchildren, Jake (Jana) Pfarr and Kylee (Dustin) Chapman; four great-grandchildren, Jackson, Juliette, Graham and Sawyer; her brother, Phil (Karen) Rea of Raleigh, North Carolina; her brothers-in-law, Thomas Ferrera and Lonnie Scheiderer; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and good friends. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, November 22, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church where the family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. Rev. Beth Clothier will officiate. Interment will be held at a later date at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church and School.
