Nancy Gail Phillips Jones, age 68, of Marysville, died peacefully Tuesday, February 20, 2018 in her home surrounded by loved ones. A registered nurse, she served as a section chief for the Ohio Department of Health. She was most proud of her role in drafting and enforcing regulations that protect Ohio’s senior citizens and in opening the Ohio State University’s Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital. Nancy was an avid gardener, antique collector, and practical joker. She will be most remembered for her her deep love for and commitment to her family and friends.
Nancy was born July 8, 1949 in Jellico, Tennessee to the late Roby and Grace Douglas Phillips. She was also preceded in death by former husband Kendall Crase and her late husband, Russell Whittenburg. She is survived by her husband, James Jones; her children, Christopher Crase, Angela (Kassem) Soliman, Sean (Amy) Crase and Julie (Cory) Spain; her grandchildren, Brittany, Cody, Gracie, Calista, Novalee, Gabriel, Elena, Rachael and Abigail; two brothers, Roby Paul (Brenda) Phillips and William Phillips; her aunt, Rita (Glenn) Lawson; and her great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews, whom she dearly loved. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Living Hope Church, 16701 Square Drive, Marysville. Pastor Jason McDonald will officiate.
