Merle Emory Redmond, age 85, of Marysville, died peacefully at home, Monday, September 2, 2019. An electrician by trade, he retired from Honda Transmission. He was a former industrial arts teacher at Northland High School and once owned Redmond Implement in Ostrander. A veteran of the United States Navy, he received a bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University. Merle was born July 13, 1934 in Topeka, Kansas to the late Raymond and Lena Provost Redmond. He was also preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carol Rogers Redmond; his sons, David (Tamara) Redmond of Plain City and Randall (Rebecca) Redmond of Milford Center; two grandchildren, Luke (Christina) Redmond and Sarah Redmond; three great-grandchildren, Emerson, Wyatt and Brooks; a sister-in-law, Pat Redmond; brothers-in-law, Donald Lieder, Carl Rogers, Donald Rowe and Eric Foster; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives. The family held private services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Union County Humane Society or any animal shelter of choice.
