Matthew Ryan Todhunter

May 30, 2022

Matthew Ryan Todhunter, age 33, of Marysville, went to be with Jesus, Monday, May 30, 2022. A diesel mechanic, he was an associate of Virginia Transport and a former associate of Kirk National Lease. A 2007 graduate of Marysville High School, he received a diesel mechanic certification from TDDS Technical Institute. Among his many talents with mechanics, he helped Leesburg Township Fire Department with truck maintenance. He was a skilled baseball player and youth baseball coach, was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and Pittsburgh Steelers (just like his father, Reese) and liked playing all sports. Deeply patriotic, he also enjoyed all kinds of music, especially country. With his own special relationship with God, Matt was known to help out any stranger. Above all, he was a beloved father, husband, son, brother and uncle. He was known as a great “hands-on” dad. He adored his son, Maddox, and was his son’s hero. Maddox inherited his daddy’s beautiful brown eyes and gorgeous long eyelashes. Matt’s smile would light up a room. He always made activities with loved ones and friends more fun and exciting. He was born July 16, 1988 in Marysville and was preceded in death by his father, Reese W. Todhunter. He is survived by his wife, Lindsay N. Eberhard Todhunter; his son, Maddox Todhunter; his mother, Carol (Chris) Keene Grau; his step-mother, Joanne Todhunter; his siblings, Debi (Ken) Dahl, Denny (Sandy) Todhunter, Gwen Augenstein, Pam (Doug) DeMoss, Christy Keene, Jenna (Jason) Cochran and Jonathon Todhunter; his brother-in-law, Brett Eberhard; his mother-and-father-in-law, Debbie and Terry Eberhard; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends that loved him. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2022 at Underwood Funeral Home where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be at Oakdale Cemetery. Pastor Clancy Cruise will officiate. A luncheon will follow the cemetery prayers at the Marysville VFW. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.underwoodfuneralhome.com.
