Mary Jane McLaughlin

Mary Jane McLaughlin, age 86, of Marysville, died Friday, August 30, 2019 at Memorial Gables in Marysville, surrounded by her family. She passed away due to health complications. Mary was retired after years of service as a home health care worker. She was a member of Heartland Baptist Church. Before coming to Marysville, she lived in Burbank, Ohio. In her lifetime, Mary was a girl scout leader, Sunday school teacher, a 4-H advisor, a Bible school teacher, a lay leader in the Methodist Church and taught Good News Clubs for children. Mary enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing and her family. She was born May 1, 1933 in Shiloh, Ohio to the late Lester and Georgianna Millick Seaman. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Wayne McLaughlin; her son, Jack McLaughlin; and her sister, Dorothy Sloan. Mary is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Norman) Richard Wood of Talmage, Pennsylvania; her son, Ronald (Sherry) McLaughlin of Newark; six grandchildren, Craig (Brandie) McLaughlin of Marysville, Kristen McLaughlin of Delaware, Clint McLaughlin of Marysville, Heidi (Jacob) Higgins of Newark, Holly (Jason) Hagans of Florida and Bryan (Heidi) McLaughlin of Newark; four great-granddaughters, Addison, Rylee, Morgan and Alexis; her brother, Dean Seaman; her sister, Alice Heifner; her in-laws, Nellie Reynolds, Chuck (Maryann) McLaughlin and Jerry McLaughlin; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2019 at Underwood Funeral Home where the family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will follow the service at Kingwood Memorial Park.
