Mary F. Lemaster Ramey, age 71, of Marysville, Ohio, formerly of Worthington, Ohio, died Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, neighbor and friend, she was known for her compassion and generosity, especially to children and the elderly. She retired in 1989 from Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus where she worked for more than 15 years as a nurse assistant. She was a member of North Baptist Church in Columbus and graduated from Prestonsburg High School in Prestonsburg, KY. She enjoyed shopping and traveling and cherished time with her family and friends. She was born February 15, 1942 in Paintsville, KY to the late Payne and Theodosha Hughes Lemaster and was also predeceased by a brother, Doug Lemaster; and a brother-in-law, Wilke May. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Alvin Ramey, whom she married September 12, 1959 in Paintsville; two sons, Lowell T. (Donna) Ramey of Dublin, Ohio and L. Trevor (Amy Kozelek) Ramey of Clintonville, Ohio; five grandchildren, Angelique, Emily, Alex, Leela and Anya; her sister, Martha May of Richmond, KY; four brothers, Frank (Kathy) Lemaster of Jacksonville, FL, David Lemaster of Staffordsville, KY, John (Holly) Lemaster of Miami, FL and Jerry Lemaster of Richmond, KY; a sister-in-law, Cathy Lemaster of West Liberty, KY; a brother-in-law, Kermit (Linda) Ramey of Westerville, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Paintsville Funeral Home, 236 2nd Street, Paintsville, KY 41240, where the family will receive friends beginning at 12 noon. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Staffordsville, KY. A memorial service will be held in Ohio at a later date. Underwood Funeral Home in Marysville is assisting the family in Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
