Mary Cormany

Mary A. Ashmore Cormany, age 81, of Delaware, formerly of Findlay, died Sunday, July 21, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family. A homemaker and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she was a 1956 graduate of Waverly High School. She met her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Wade Cormany, in 1953. She enjoyed gardening, camping, cooking and sewing. Mary was an avid football and NASCAR fan. Above all, she was passionate in seeing and spending time with her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was born June 20, 1938 in Rome, Georgia to the late Roy and Vicki Nation Ashmore. She was also preceded in death by her father- and mother-in-law, Lee and Mildred Tharp Cormany; her son, Wade “Robb” Cormany; her granddaughter, Lesa Marie Smith; her grandson, Justin Paul Smith; and a brother-and sister-in-law, Gary and Cyni Cormany. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Wade E. Cormany, whom she married May 27, 1957 at United Methodist Church in Blue Ridge, Georgia; three daughters, Roxanne (Jerry) Smith of Marysville, Randi (Daniel) Hoyer of Findlay and Ricci (Dennis) Miller of Delaware; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Brian) Watts of Greensboro, North Carolina, David Smith of Marysville, Joshua (Kara) Hoyer of Cincinnati, Danielle (Zachary) Mueller of Cincinnati, Nathanial Miller of Delaware, Dallan Miller of Delaware and Christopher (AJ) Cormany of Marysville; her great-grandchildren, Madison, Zachary and Ryland Watts, all of Greensboro, North Carolina, Adeline Lesa Mueller of Cincinnati and Oakley and Ivy Cormany of Marysville; a sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Cormany of Waverly; and other loving relatives. The family will hold a private celebration of her life at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus. Underwood Funeral Home in Marysville is assisting the family.
