Martha Wolpert Wolff

Martha Ellen Wolpert Wolff, age 95, of Marysville, died Friday, February 19, 2021 at Brookdale Senior Living in Marysville.  She was a longtime member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she participated in the ladies’ aid and taught Sunday School. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and attended St. parochial school. A 1943 graduate of Union Rural Local High School, she also graduated from Grant Hospital Nursing Program in 1946. A registered nurse for 25 years, her career began as a Cadet Nurse at Galinger Hospital in Washington D.C. and she continued her nursing work at worked Memorial Hospital of Union County in the intensive care unit. Martha worked on the family farm with her late husband, Lester. They were members of the Farm Bureau Council (Darby Plain Talkers). She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, traveling, gardening and reading and volunteered at Memorial Hospital for mobile meals and in the surgery waiting room. She was also a member of Windsor and Community Seniors. She was born April 14, 1925 in Union County to the late Carl L. and Clara Eickemeyer Wolpert.  She was also preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Lester John Edward Wolff; three brothers, George, Bernard and Herbert Wolpert; two sisters, Ruth Schroer and Lois Nicol; and other in-laws, Rev. Sherwood Schroer, Herbert Nicol, Rev. Paul Carmany, LeRoy and Irene Wolff and Beverlee Wolpert.  She is survived by her children, Paul (Carla) Wolff of Columbus, Indiana, Susan (Tim) Crusey of Huntsville and John (Martha) Wolff of Milford Center; her grandchildren, Brian (Pam) Wolff, Sara (Dave Eckerle) Branaman, Rachel (Kevin) Schrock, Leah (Anthony) Bugaj, William (Kylene) Harms and Nathan (Alex) Harms; great-grandchildren, Bryce, Avery, Corey, Sara, Victoria and Everleigh; a sister, Esther Carmany; a brother, Walter (Phyllis) Wolpert; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2021 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church where the family will receive friends beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will be beside her husband at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. The Rev. Paul R. Schlueter will officiate. COVID precautions will be required. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Loving Care Hospice.
