Mamie Murphy, 94, of Marysville, died Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at her home. An associate of U-Co Industries for many years, she considered herself one of the most efficient workers in the shop. She was an avid country music fan, especially Toby Keith and Elvis Presley, and had the opportunity of personally meeting Mr. Keith, at Jamboree in the Hills. She enjoyed puzzles, getting manicures and her pet bird, “Toby.” Of Irish descent, her favorite holiday was St. Patrick’s Day. She was born July 2, 1920 in Jackson, Ohio to the late George and Grace Murphy Pugh and was also predeceased by a sister, Stella. She is survived by many loving friends and caring staff, including Gail Rucker. A memorial gathering will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at Underwood Funeral Home where friends may call beginning at 4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
