Many years ago, I was a fourth grade student in Mrs. Retterer's class at Edgewood. She was always one of my favorite teachers and was also my Confirmation sponsor. Although I hadn't seen her in years, I remember her with such fondness and send my deepest condolences to her family.

So sorry for your loss. I had Mrs. Retterer in 5th and 6th grade at New Dover. Was a great experience for me at the time. Then she taught my daughter,Jennifer, at Edgewood. Then few years ,I did Mobile Meals and she was on route a few times and always glad to see me and mention old times. Glad you mentioned her playing Basketball as my Mom played at New Dover and graduated in 1936 so Madeline probably played against her and several of my aunts. My prayers for your family as is difficult time to go through. Peggy

Suzie & Family. What a wonderful person your Mother was. She and Bud were a big part of our lives on Chestnut. Always a smile and kindness. We are thinking of you and your girls.

Condolences to the Retterer Family. Mrs. Retterer was my all time favorite teacher many, many years ago at Edgewood. She always had a kind word, endless patience and somehow was able to control a room full of 5th graders without needing to raise her voice. Any time I saw her over the years, she always had a smile and warm greeting. I remember her very fondly and am sure she made a very significant difference in the lives of many of us Marysville kids.

I had the privilege of teaching with Madeline for many years. She was a constant source of wisdom and support. What a gift she was to so many students and teachers during her career. My sympathy to the Retterer family.
