Lyle Wesley “Wes” Mouser, age 99, of Marysville, died Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Carriage Court Senior Lifestyle in Marysville. He was a retired after 42 years as a machine operator from Eljer Plumbingware. During his retirement, he worked as a sales clerk at McAuliffe’s Ace Hardware. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Marysville where he was baptized in 1951. He also had a recent relationship with Byhalia Friends Church. A veteran of World War II, he served in the United States Army and received European Theater citations, including the Battle of the Bulge. He was a charter member and life member of VFW Post 6817 in Mt. Victory and a sixty-year member of IAM- International Association of Machinists. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was born April 6, 1917 in Hardin County to the late Otto Elgar and Gertrude Priest Mouser. He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Mt. Victory High School in 1935. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased on May 3, 2004 by his wife of 63 years, Sara Kathryn “Katie” Williams Mouser, whom he married August 10, 1941 in Hardin County; a brother, Lawrence Mouser; and a sister, Doris Jones. He is survived by his son, Jeffrey (Amy) Mouser of Marysville; three granddaughters, Sarah (Brad) Brown, Emily Fralix and Erika (Cecil) Beasley; two great-granddaughters, Ava Brown and Stella Beasley; two nieces, Joellen Beaman and Janine Dick Music; and many other friends, including his very dear companion, Eloise Creviston. Funeral services with military honors will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Underwood Funeral Home where the family will receive friends beginning at 11 a.m. Pastor Jim Gardner will officiate. A luncheon will follow at First Presbyterian Church of Marysville. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Otterbein Cemetery in Mt. Victory.
