Louis Andrew “Lou” Pettenski, Jr., age 90, of Marysville, formerly of Schenectady, NY and Columbus, OH passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Memorial Hospital in Marysville. He was a tool designer for over 35 years, he retired from Rockwell International (North American Aviation) and was a former associate of General Electric, Curtis Wright, Denison Engineering and Abex Corporation. A veteran of the United States Army, he was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. In addition to his profession, Louis became a master gardener and excelled at many crafts including marquetry, stained glass and crafting gourds into bird houses. He was born November 29, 1927 in Schenectady, New York to the late Louis Andrew and Mary Pisarczyk Pettenski, Sr.; and was pre-deceased by his step-mother, Ida Pisarczyk; his son, Michael L. Pettenski; and his brother, Ronald M. Pettenski. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, whom he met at General Electric, Dorothy nee Evans, and married November 23, 1950 at the Cathedral of St. John’s in Cleveland; his sons, David (Carole) of Clinton, WA, Thomas (Patricia) of Columbus and Robert (Danella) of Orient; four grandchildren, Nikolas, Andrew, Jackson and Anna; two sisters-in-law, Diane Pettenski and Ellen Evans; and other relatives and friends, including his pet canine companion, “Buddy.” Funeral services will be held 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Underwood Funeral Home where the family will receive friends beginning at 4 p.m. Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Resurrection Cemetery. Rev. Fr. Kevin J. Kavanagh will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church or Windsor and Community Seniors.
