Lois Ann Lowry, age 89, of Marysville, died peacefully Sunday, August 29, 2021 at Monarch Assisted Living with her family by her side after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was a former associate at the Ohio Reformatory for Women, the Juvenile Detention Center and was a custodian at Marysville High School. She was a kind, loving and humble soul who never asked for anything. She was known as the caregiver of the family and always put others before herself. Lois never judged anyone and always provided unconditional love and words of encouragement to others when needed. She enjoyed taking car rides, playing euchre and spending time with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Lois Ann was born April 25, 1932 in Medway, Ohio to the late Frank and Mary Lorton Sinclair. She married Dwight H. Lowry on November 13, 1950 in Mechanicsburg, Ohio. He preceded her in death on March 14, 2006 after 55 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her sons, Dwight A. Lowry, Sr. and Dean Lowry; and her 15 siblings including her twin brother, Lowell. She is survived by her children, Dwane Lowry of Marysville, David (Kaylee) Lowry of Laurelville and Lisa (Mike) Brown of Marysville; 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; two special nieces she raised, Paula Ryan of Mechanicsburg and Tiffanie Moen of Marysville; her daughters-in-law, Leona Lowry and Aletha Lowry, both of Marysville; sister-in-law, Esther Sinclair of Troy, Ohio; many nieces and nephews and several good friends. The family would like to give special thanks to her friends at Monarch Assisted Living who took her under their wings and were always there for her and the staffs at Monarch Assisted Living and Loving Care Hospice of Union County who helped provide care for her on her final journey. The family will receive friends beginning at 12 noon on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Underwood Funeral Home where a funeral procession will form at 2 p.m. and proceed to Oakdale Cemetery. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Loving Care Hospice of Union County or Alzheimer’s Association Central Ohio Chapter.
