Leonard M. “Bud” Griffith, age 82, a life resident of Marysville, died Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Memorial Hospital. Born May 18, 1937 in Marysville to the late Asa and Ethel Burkholder Griffith, Bud was a 1956 graduate of Marysville High School. As a youth, he worked as a newspaper carrier coordinator for the Marysville Journal Tribune. A veteran of the Ohio National Guard, he also worked at Haffner’s Five and Dime and later, at A & P Grocery and for Teets Carpet Store. He and his wife, Ann, retired as owner/operators of Short Stop at Fifth and Maple Streets after many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death 2016, by a son, Steve Griffith; and his sisters, Miriam Mut and Loretta Kleiber. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ann Marie Dilmuth Griffith, whom he married April 6, 1957; two daughters, Janie (David) Blumenschein of Marysville and Cheryl (Larry) Ryan of Marysville; five grandchildren, Bryan, Ann and Lindsay Blumenschein and Ashley and Justin (Rebekah) Ryan; and great-grandchildren, Kali, Brady, Addisyn and Brooklyn; a brother, Ed (Carol) Griffith of Marysville; a brother-in-law, Don Kleiber; a sister-in-law, Judy (Don) Teets; and many other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Oakdale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Lupus Foundation of America, Greater Ohio Chapter.
