Lawrence Rolland “Ron” Peake, age 80, of North Lewisburg, died unexpectedly Thursday, July 11, 2019 at his home. A longtime truck driver, he retired from Clark Trucking in 2002. He attended Jonathan Alder High School and was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of the American Legion in Bonita Springs, Florida. Ron enjoyed fishing, riding horses, raising hunting dogs, traveling and supporting 4-H. He will be remembered for making early wake up calls to his loved ones every Christmas morning. He was born February 26, 1939 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Clyde and Ruth Hoisington Peake. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Wood. He is survived by his children, Lawrence (Desiree) Peake of Florida, Jeffrey (Jutta) Peake of Alaska, Shelly (Robert) Smith of North Lewisburg, Scott (Jessyca) Peake of North Lewisburg and Carolyn (Johnithan) Bush of Virginia; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brother, Gary Peake; his sisters, Diane (Tom) Taylor and Claudia Kreis; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2019 at Marysville VFW Post 3320 with military honors at 1 p.m. Underwood Funeral Home of Marysville and Vernon Funeral Home of Mechanicsburg is assisting the family.
