Laura Joanne Dayton Comer

April 11, 2023

Laura Joanne Dayton Comer, age 63, of Marysville, passed away at home on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 after a short but brave battle against cancer.
Born May 24, 1959 to the late David and Joanne Spitler Dayton, she was a lifelong resident of Marysville. Laura graduated from Mount Vernon University in 2007 with a degree in business administration and had a wonderfully supportive group of friends, who have walked beside her throughout her life.
She married Terry G. Comer on June 28, 2008. They settled outside of Marysville and into Mill Creek Church of Christ. She was a believer in Christ and His power in her life. She was excited to have a party in heaven with family and friends that have joined Jesus before her. A devout member of Mill Creek Church of Christ, her church family has been a strong support during her short illness.
“Some of its magic; Some of its tragic, but I had a good life all the way!”
Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Dustin Duncan, her grandson, Duncan McAdow and her step-daughter, Lisa Comer. She is survived by her beloved husband, Terry; her children, Amanda (Matthew) Nicol of Urbana and Christopher Hull of Athens; a step-daughter, Lori Jenkins of Marysville; her grandchildren, Savannah, Hunter, Derek, Deven, Dylon, and Devon; her brothers, Brian Dayton of Wisconsin and Michael (Mike Gargiulo) Dayton of California; and her step-mother, Susan Dayton of Columbus.
The family will receive friends 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Underwood Funeral Home. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 14, 2023 at Millcreek Church of Christ on Lunda Road in Raymond. Pastors David LaDuke and Jack Knox will officiate and private burial will be held at Oakdale Cemetery.
