Larry Godwin

October 28, 2022

Larry Dennis Godwin, age 78, of Marysville, Ohio, was released from this Earth to his Heavenly Home by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Friday, October 28, 2022.
He was born September 10, 1944 in Union County, North Carolina to the late Joe and Kate Tarleton Godwin. He was also preceded in death by his siblings and in-laws, Rachel and Smith Whitley, Billy and Betty Godwin and Jim and Cullie Godwin.
Larry is survived by his siblings, Bob (Bonnie) Godwin, Gene (Linda) Godwin and Doug (Linda) Godwin; his sisters-in-law, Flossie Russell, Sarah Jones, Pauline Pope, Sandra Williams and Virginia Cutlip, all of North Carolina; his children, Roxanne (Jackie) Mullis, Chris (Cindy) Godwin and Nikki (Mike) Meffley; his grandchildren, Josh, Brandon, Kelci, Taylor, Mattie, Marisa and Lillian; his great-grandsons, Kai and Kale; his bonus grandchildren, Jake, Kylie, Kyle, Keisha, Lynette, Owen, Grace, Becca, Erin, Ben, Heather, Jay, Tiffany, Nathan, Brittney, Jonathan, Cody and Savannah; his bonus great-grandchildren, Connor, Reese, Cole, Cohen, Dylan, Aisleigh, Everly, Theo, Finley, Eden, Ollie, Ellie and Levi; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
But the most important person left to treasure his Love and his memory is his loving wife of 58 years, Judy Williams Godwin. Together their bond was inseparable. “So Larry, it’s not goodbye, it’s until we meet again!” Larry was a loving, caring husband, dad, pawpaw, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was a true definition of “if you knew him, you loved him and he loved you back!”
He called all his granddaughters “Sugar” and he was so proud of all of them and his grandsons!
Larry was true role model to his children and he instilled in them a great work ethic and for that they are forever grateful.
He worked hard all his life – always in sales. Someone said it best this week, “He was a great entrepreneur.” He was great at everything he did.
Larry was of the Baptist faith and attended Bible Baptist Church for many years until his health kept him from attending.
Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Oakdale Cemetery in Marysville, Ohio. Pastor Jeremy Stout will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Loving Care Hospice, 779 London Ave., Marysville, Ohio 43040. Underwood Funeral Home is assisting the family. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.underwoodfuneralhome.com.
