June Marie Wheeler Cocklin, 93, a lifetime resident of Union County, died Saturday, November 9, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family. She retired from the State of Ohio where she worked at Scioto Village as a cottage leader. She was a 1938 graduate of Allen Center High School and became a licensed cosmetologist. She enjoyed cooking, all types of handicrafts and most of all, being with her family. She was born June 9, 1920 in Allen Township to the late D. and Lida Orahood Wheeler and was also predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Charles L. Cocklin; a daughter, Juanita Cocklin; a son, Carl Cocklin; and a special sister-in-law, Carol Wheeler. She is survived by two daughters, Janet Graham and June Cocklin, both of Marysville; a son, Paul (Dawn) Cocklin of Winchester; a daughter-in-law, Betty Cocklin of Sunbury; five grandchildren, Delbert (Christy) Cocklin, Joan Flach, David (Judy) Cocklin, Andrew Cocklin and Kelly (Jim) Zakrajsek; five great grandchildren, Jeremy Flach, Amber and Steven Cocklin and Asher and Matty Zakrajsek; great great granddaughters, Byanca and Bayleigh Flach; two brothers, William Wheeler of Grove City and James Wheeler of Marysville; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held 4 p.m. Sunday followed by a time of fellowship at Allen Center Township Hall on Allen Center Road.
