Joseph Stiffler

Joseph Michael Stiffler, age 59, of Marysville, died unexpectedly Saturday, January 16, 2016 at his home. He was a retired associate of Honda of America where he worked for 22 years. During his retirement, he was affiliated with Nissan International Transport. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Marysville where he served as deacon and participated with AWANA and taught adult and teen Sunday school. He attended Highland High School and received his GED through Marysville schools. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and gardening and treasured spending time with his family. He also loved to cook. He grew up on the farm and will be remembered as hard working man with a kind and generous spirit. He was one who relied on God and was deeply devoted to his church and loving family. He was born July 11, 1956 Delaware to Paul A. Stiffler and Ruth Adkins Stiffler Pukansky, who both survive in Marengo. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William John and Golda Stiffler and Emmett and Ina Adkins. He is survived by his wife 38 years, Donna Marie Couden Stiffler, whom he married May 7, 1977 in Fargo, Ohio; two sons, David (Rhonda) Stiffler of Marysville and John (Kristi) Stiffler of Dayton; four granddaughters, Audrey, Alyssa, Callie and Emily; four brothers, Gerald (Roberta) Stiffler, Melvin (Vicki) Stiffler, Robert “Bob” (Robin) Stiffler and Keith (Shelly) Pukansky; two sisters, Diane (Ted) Saunders and Rhonda (Mike) Sanders; brothers-and sisters-in-law, Joe Pukansky, Scott (Teri) Morgan, Helen (Chuck) Trumbull, Julie (Harold) Britton; his father-in-law, Richard Couden; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and good friends. The family will receive friends 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Underwood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 309 South Oak Street, Marysville. Pastor Matt Olmstead will officiate and burial will be at Oakdale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church. Condolences may be expressed to the family at
