Joseph “Joey” Anthony Pfarr, age 49, of Marysville, died peacefully Friday, May 8, 2020 at his home surrounded by family after a nine-month battle with brain cancer. A 1989 graduate of Marysville High School, he was a stand-out athlete and participated in football, basketball and baseball. Known for his “wild” spirit and ornery sense of humor, Joey was an avid football fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes. He enjoyed swimming, boating, playing golf and pickup games of basketball and football with all of his buddies in years past. He also liked riding his Harley and taking motorcycle trips with his dad and fellow riders. His most favorite times with loved ones were sitting by the campfire and listening to classic rock with “a cold one.” A dedicated father, he was especially proud of his daughter, Sierra, who carries his big heart. He enjoyed watching Sierra play sports and show livestock at the county fair. Joey always brought her name up in conversation and would have a huge smile on his face when talking about her. Joey will be remembered as a compassionate soul with a warm and forgiving heart. Joey was born August 10, 1970 in Marysville, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother and “sidekick,” Bette “Doodles” Kandel Pfarr McQuown; his paternal grandfathers, Robert E. Pfarr and Jack McQuown; his maternal grandparents, Carmen and Maxine Brown Wilson; and his uncle, Dick Wilson. He is survived by his wife of seven years, Tiffianie Wood Pfarr, of Marysville; his daughter, Sierra Pfarr; his step-son, Landon Colon; his father, Mike Pfarr, of Springfield; his mother Rhonda (Wes) Musgrave, of Tennessee; his brother, Jamy (Julie Ellerbrock) Pfarr; his sister, Angie (Rob) Thirkield; his step-sister, Christy Musgrave; his step-brother, Dennis Musgrave; his aunts and uncles, Robin (Randy) Sheldon, Roger (Bonnie) Wilson, Barb Wilson and Tona Musgrave; nieces and nephews, Austin, Ashley, Zach and Morgan Pfarr, Kyle and Makala Thirkield, Cadence, Brianna, Daniel and Jorgia; father-and mother-in-law, Butch and Betty Wood; brother-in-law, Shawn (Tiffany DeVito) Wood; and many other relatives and friends, including Mandy Hobbs Higbee. To all of Joey’s friends, a toast – to “Lip Lock” and “Roll, roll, let’s rock and roll!” Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m . Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at Oakdale Cemetery.
