April 20, 2023
Our dear mother, JoAnn Ruth Kalp, age 75, of Marysville, sadly passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at her home with her beloved family at her side. She was a wonderful mom, grandma, and great-grandma who was always there when you needed her. As a homemaker and mom, she was there to take her daughters and grandchildren to school and activities as well as attend sporting events and celebrate their accomplishments. She enjoyed daily phone calls with Michelle and Kellie. She was born and raised in Pennsylvania and graduated from Hempfield High School in 1965. A dearly devoted wife, she supported her late husband, William O. “Bill” Kalp throughout his career by ensuring their family household always ran smoothly. JoAnn enjoyed camping throughout her lifetime, often camping with her daughters and grandchildren. When she wasn’t spending quality time with her loved ones, she enjoyed playing Bingo with her late friends, Carlene and Diane, traveling and taking cruises with her late husband and friends “Tex” and her late husband Butch. She loved making crafts for family and friends and shopping for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and rarely missed watching the Buckeyes or Pittsburgh Steelers play. While living in South Carolina she attended many NASCAR events with her late husband, Bill. She was a life member of VFW Post: 3320 and will be missed dearly by her canine companion, “Pickles.” She was born September 10, 1947, in Greensburg, Pennsylvania to the late Donald Reamer and Leola Silvis Reamer Ohr. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, William O. “Bill: Kalp; her brothers, Charles Reamer, and William Reamer; and her great-granddaughter, Paitynn.
