Joan Lawler Bolin, 81, of Plain City, died Monday, January 27, 2014 at The Gables at Green Pastures in Marysville. She retired from the Plain City Public Library where she served as a librarian for almost 18 years. A graduate of Marion Catholic High School, she was a former staff employee for the Village of Plain City and worked in the offices of the Mayor and Police. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She enjoyed crocheting, traveling and baking. She will be most remembered as a loving, devoted and hard-working mother. She was born June 27, 1932 in Marion to the late Joseph and Hilda Goede Lawler and was also predeceased by her husband, Donald A. Bolin; two sons, Tim and David Bolin; two sisters, Gertrude Rochelle and Donna Kaelber; and a brother, Michael Lawler. She is survived by her children, Susan (Charles) Wampler of Plain City, Ron Bolin of Irwin, Chuck (Cindy) Bolin of Brenham, TX and Jane (Paul) Thompson of Magnetic Springs; grandchildren, Tobie (Emily) Wampler, David (Jordan) Wampler, Nicole Wampler, Jeremy Bolin, Amber Bolin, Andrew Bolin, Cathey Bolin, Lindsay Meeker and Nick Thompson; a great granddaughter, Chloe Wampler; a sister-in-law, Judy Lawler; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. David A. Poliafico will officiate. The family will receive friends 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Underwood Funeral Home. Private interment will be held later at Chapel Heights Memory Gardens in Marion.
