Jay Wesley Martin, age 50, of Marysville, died Monday, August 30, 2021 at Riverside Methodist Hospital following a short illness. He was an associate of Hollywood Casino where he served as a poker dealer since the casino’s opening. A 1989 graduate of Marysville High School, he attended First Presbyterian Church of Marysville where he was baptized as a youngster. An avid reader, he was an accomplished guitarist and enjoyed his vinyl record collection. He also liked golf and tennis and was a passionate Cleveland sports fan. However, his greatest joy was spending time with his family. He was born November 8, 1970 in Columbus and was preceded in death by his father, James Donald Martin. He is survived by his children, Nathen “Nate” (Rachel) Martin of Chicago, Katelynn “Katie” (Tyler) Martin of Springfield and Anthony “Tony” Martin of Buffalo, New York; his mother, Jackie Snider Martin of Marysville; his uncles, Gary (Cindy) Martin, Gary (Pauline Warg) Snider; his aunt, Carol (Ken) Janowiak; and other relatives and friends, including Marty Anderson of Columbus. The family will hold graveside services at Millcreek Cemetery on Lunda Road at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Jay’s memory to a charity of choice.
