Jay C. Seiter, age 57, of Marysville, formerly of Marion, died Sunday, November 4, 2018 at The Ohio State University James Cancer Hospital following many years of battling cancer with strength and courage. He was a retired associate of Honda of America where he was an engineering coordinator for 35 years. A 1979 graduate of Marion Pleasant High School, he attended The Ohio State University. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was known as an avid fisherman and loved catching pike in Northern Canada. He was a big sports fan of the Dallas Cowboys and OSU Buckeyes and enjoyed Indy car racing. He will be remembered as a beer connoisseur, a lover of technology and his family called him a “jack-of-all-trades.” He was born August 6, 1961 in Marion and was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Jay Seiter and a brother-in-law, Mark Zirger. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Jill Ann Zirger Seiter, whom he married November 30, 1985 in Tiffin; his two daughters, Julie Marie (Bryce) Stewart of Marysville and Jessica Renae (Corey Griest) Seiter of Marysville; a granddaughter, Autumn Renae; a grandson, Corbin Jay; and a granddaughter “on the way,” Ivy Ray; his mother, Carol Seiter of Marysville; his father -and mother-in-law, Fred and Kay Zirger of Tiffin; three brothers-in-law, Mike (Lisa) Zirger of Waldo, Dan (Rasha) Zirger of Tiffin and Brian Zirger of Tiffin; four aunts, Shirley Kulick of Delaware; Monta Jean (Dale) Beery of Tyrone, Pennsylvania, Marlene Thompson of Taylorsville, Georgia and Nancy Bratton of Tucson, Arizona; and nieces and nephews, Megan, Kamren, Erica, Alaina and Rafael Zirger; and many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Underwood Funeral Home, 703 East Fifth Street, Marysville, Ohio 43040. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 311 East Sixth Street, Marysville. Rev. Barry Scott will officiate and interment will follow at the Trinity Lutheran Church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation or Trinity Lutheran Church.
