Jan Paul Dick, age 75, of Marysville, Ohio, died unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, July 14, 2018. He was with his wife of 52 years, Heather Jo (Robinson) Dick. He was born February 28, 1943 in New Eagle, Pennsylvania to the late Earl and Catherine (Hanna) Dick. He then moved to Duluth, Minnesota, and from there to Dover, Ohio, where he attended junior high and high school and met Heather. Jan graduated from Dover High School in 1961, then received his business degree from Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA in 1966. Subsequently, he served two years as an artillery instructor for the army in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Following his service, he began his 30-year career as a marketing specialist in the belts and hose division of Goodyear. While working for Goodyear, he lived in Ohio, Minnesota, Nebraska and Missouri, finally settling in Marysville. He retired from Goodyear in 2006 and turned his talents toward helping others in his community. He was a member and past-president of Marysville Friends of the Library. A volunteer for patient care at Memorial Hospital, he also delivered mobile meals and served on the Memorial Meals advisory committee. He volunteered at the hospital for almost ten years with 1,379 accrued hours. Jan was a calm, loving and patient man who would drop anything he was doing to help others. He loved his family; his wife, four children and seven grandchildren were a constant source of joy for him. He spent countless hours helping his kids with home and gardening projects and loved working on his own house and garden with Heather. He loved golfing, following politics on TV and in the newspaper, and watching sports, especially if the Buckeyes were playing. He had a sharp wit and taught his own family how to handle adversity with a sense of humor and patient attitude.
