James A. King, age 73, of Marysville, formerly of Kentucky, died peacefully surrounded by his loved ones, on Monday, September 24, 2018 at his home. A farming laborer most of his life, he was a former associate of Berryhill Nursery in Springfield. He was a talented, self-taught musician, who was skilled on the banjo, guitar, fiddle, harmonica and upright bass. He used to play in blue grass bands while growing up in Kentucky. An animal lover, he will be missed by his pet dogs, Trixie 1 and Trixie 2. He was born November 18, 1944 in Sunbury, Ohio to the late John and Goldie Curtis King. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Paul King and Samuel King; and a sister, Martha Whitt. He is survived by the love of his life, Judy Paynter; three brothers, Johnny King of Sitka, Kentucky, David (Lisa) King of Paintsville, Kentucky and Joseph King of Martha, Kentucky; two sisters, Annabelle (Ed) Jordan of Martha, Kentucky and Delilah (Gary) Clay of North Lewisburg, Ohio; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including Matthew (Ernestine) Marsh, Michael Marsh and Mark (Danielle) Marsh. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Underwood Funeral Home where the family will receive friends beginning at 11 a.m. James’ nephew, Pastor Rodney King will officiate and burial will be at Raymond Cemetery.
