Jack Leroy Ramsden, age 68, of Marysville, died Friday, February 5, 2016 at his home. Since August, he battled cancer, but maintained his giving and kind personality until the very end. He retired from Midwest Express Group after 14 years where he was senior technical specialist. His career of 45 years included computer programming and worked for several firms in the Midwest. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during the Vietnam War where he was stationed in Natrang. He also served on the USS Walke. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed boating, fishing, camping and gardening. He often kindly volunteered to repair his friend’s computers, was an avid Ohio State fan, liked bowling and especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. His family appreciated his cooking skills and often came up with his own tasty recipes. A 1965 graduate and football player at Birmingham High School in Van Nuys, California, he was born March 7, 1947 in Fresno, California to the late Donald Laverne and Amollia Sophia Grasmick Ramsden. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 48 years, Donna L. Bumbalough Ramsden; two daughters, Christina (Paul) Sandstrom and Candace (James) Braden, both of Marysville; two grandchildren, Mekenna and Kyle; two sisters, Patricia Montgomery and Deborah (George) Ashton, both of California; his brothers-and sisters-in-law, Martin J. Bumbalough, Richard Bumbalough, Gloria Cutrona, Dora Jean Kirby; many nieces and nephews including Robert and Steven Montgomery; and other relatives and friends including his favorite aunt, Karen McDonald Ramsden. Following Jack’s wishes, the family held a private gathering. Memorial contributions may be given to the Union County Cancer Society. Underwood Funeral Home is assisting the family.
