Hugh R. Stoneburner, age 81, of Raymond, formerly of New Lexington, died peacefully Friday, April 9, 2021 at his home with his family at his side. He retired from Rockwell International after 30 years where he worked as a machine repairman. He was a graduate of Corning High School and was a member of Raymond United Methodist Church. He was a fan of Ohio State athletics and the Cincinnati Reds. A hard-working family man, his utmost dedication was to wife and three children. He was born May 14, 1939 in Perry County to the late Harold and Dorothy Musick Stoneburner. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Harold, Jr., Robert, Raymond and Evelyn Ann Altier. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Peggy L. Sherrick Stoneburner, whom he married January 7, 1961 in Moxahala, Ohio; his children, Gregg Stoneburner of Zanesville, Melissa (Gary) Hankins of Phoenix, Arizona and Eric Turner of Raymond; two granddaughters, Chelsea Ratliff and Cady Hankins; a grandson, Cameron Wallace; a brother, Donald Stoneburner; a sister-in-law, Shelby (Daryle) Turner; and other relatives and special friends, including Doni and Tracy Wallace of Raymond and Russ and Dori Watson of Allen Center.
