Helen L Troesch

Helen Lydia Brockmann Troesch, 86, of Marysville, died Sunday, April 15, 2012 at The Gables at Green Pastures. A registered nurse, she retired as a public health nurse with the Union County Health Department. She also worked as a physician’s office nurse for Malcolm MacIvor, M.D. and James Snider, M.D. She and her husband, Carl, founded and operated The Lighthouse Christian Bookstore, originally located at the corner of Fifth and Court Streets and which later moved to 122 North Court Street. They retired after operating the bookstore 25 years. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was baptized and confirmed at her childhood church in Missouri. She enjoyed traveling and camping with her family. Above all, she was a loving wife and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was born November 25, 1925 in Creve Coeur, Missouri to the late Edward and Lydia Magwitz Brockmann and was also predeceased in 2005 by her grandson, Paul “Adam” Troesch; in 2009 by her son-in-law, Jacob Marshall; an infant brother, Harold Edward Brockmann; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lutrelle and Maxine Troesch and Burdetta and Roy Scheiderer; a niece, Nacrina Troesch Lavann; and her father-and mother-in-law, Emil and Selma Troesch. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Carl F. Troesch, whom she married June 3, 1950 in St. Louis, Missouri; a daughter, Brenda Marshall of Marysville; a son, Paul (Julie) Troesch of Marysville; two grandchildren, Kristen (Anthony) Thompson of Hilliard and A.J. (Cassandra) Shope of Calverton Park, MO; two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Eva; a niece, Barbara (Robert) Campbell; two nephews, David Troesch and Jonathan Scheiderer; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Rev. John W. Fair will officiate and burial will be at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Underwood Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.underwood16.wpengine.com.
