Harold L. Harrington, age 83, of Marysville, died Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at his home with his loving wife by his side. He retired from Hagglunds Denison where he was a machine operator for over 30 years. He was also a former associate of The Nestle Company. A 1954 graduate of Marysville High School, he grew up in Dover Township and attended Dover grade school. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He shared his love of fishing with his brothers, sons and grandsons. He also liked westerns and read Louis L’Amour books. He will be most remembered for time spent with his grandchildren and his playfulness as “Papaw” Harrington. He was born October 8, 1935 in Union County to the late Joseph and Roberta Blue Harrington. He was also preceded in death by two grandsons, Garrett Thomas Harrington and Paul “Adam” Troesch; and two brothers, Donald and Roger Harrington. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Judith “Judy” A. Gibson Harrington, whom he married June 4, 1956 in Indiana; his children, Julie (Paul) Troesch of Marysville, Jeff “Beef” Harrington of Marysville and Jason (Kellena Elbin) Harrington of Prospect; his grandchildren, Kristen Troesch of Hilliard, Anna (Jesse Persinger) Harrington of Green Camp, Preston Harrington of Prospect and Rachel (Dillon Stansberry) Harrington of Marion; his great-grandchildren, Ethan, Eva, Elizabeth, Hayden, Sahvannah, Mya, Aubriana, Isabelle and Payton; a brother-in-law, William (Helen) Gibson of Columbus; and nieces, nephews and other relatives. The family holds a deep appreciation for Jeff Bowman who provided supportive friendship and personal care for Harold and for the care and compassion given by Lori Waite, R.N. and Loving Care Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 31, 2019 at Underwood Funeral Home where the family will receive friends beginning at 2 p.m. Pastors Dennis Peters and Tom Young will officiate. Interment will be held at Mt. Herman Cemetery in Dover Township at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Loving Care Hospice.
