Gregory Scott Camburn

Gregory Scott Camburn, age 59, of Marysville, formerly of Upper St. Clair, PA , Worthington, OH and Cedar Rapids, IA, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, July 31, 2022. He was an associate of Genric Security at the Marysville Honda of America Plant. Greg was also a commercial real estate appraiser and member of The Appraisal Institute. A longtime season ticket holder of the Cedar Rapids Kernels Baseball Club., Greg also enjoyed working in his yard and was a big fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and Pittsburgh Steelers. He will especially be remembered for his love of family, dogs, all things baseball, sports history, and wacky roadside attractions. Greg was born April 18, 1963, in Columbus to the late Terry and Wanda Harris Camburn. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Joseph Caparrotti, and Edna “Gran” Hedeen. He is survived by his wife and adventure partner of 24 years, Maria Caparrotti Camburn, children Michael Camburn of Houston, Texas and Suzy Camburn of Marysville; stepdaughter Sarah Caparrotti (Davis) of Marysville, a sister, Linda (David) Hewitt of Pittsburgh, his brother John (Michele) Camburn of Philadelphia, beloved mother-in-law Dianna Caparrotti of Angola, Indiana, sister-in-law Francesca (Greg) Jones of Reading, Michigan, uncles Kenneth (Paula) Harris and Thomas Camburn, and aunts Ruth Costakos and Charlene Camburn. Greg was also the fun uncle to Jennifer Missen, Ashley Frailey, Rachael Hewitt, Chris Camburn, Joe Joyce, Samuel and Lucia Jones. He is also survived by longtime friends who became family: Antonio J. Patterson, Mary Westermeyer, Wendy Miller, Julie and Ken Rocchio, Denise and Randy Jones, Jim Higgins, Eric Taylor, Don Guarino, Kathleen Dontje, Callie Yeary, Gary Weckerlin, Will Pattison, Adam Losey, Brad and Heather Bohl, Phil and Tink Morgan, Matthew Franklin, Larry and Rhonda Papkin, Anthony Mollica, Sandra Martin-Mollica, John and Diana Duros, Michael Hood, Clint and Beth Dietrich and BJ Melsha. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, September 4, 2022 at Underwood Funeral Home, Marysville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Greg’s name to Ronald McDonald House Charities, the South Hills Interfaith Mission (SHIM) in Peters Township, PA, or the Cedar Rapids Kernels Foundation.
