Gladys M. Early Hesson, 77, of Marysville, died Friday, March 14, 2014 at Emeritus at Halcyon Village in Marysville. She graduated in 1958 from White Cross School of Nursing in Columbus with a registered nurse degree. She worked at Memorial Hospital of Union County for her entire career, where she served most of her years in obstetrics. After retiring in 1990, she assisted as physician’s nurse for Dr. Rodney Hurl, M.D. She was a member of Stony Creek Church of the Brethren in Bellefontaine. She was a member of King’s Daughters and Sons and was also a member of P.E.R.I. She was a dog lover, especially Corgis, and cared for five family canines through the years. She was born February 2, 1937 in Bellefontaine to the late Paul and Mary Vore Early and was also predeceased in 2011 by her husband of 51 years, Robert Paul Hesson and in 2004 by her daughter, Sheila Ann Hesson. She is survived by her son, Rodney P. Hesson of Marysville; a brother, Harold (Sue Ann) Early of Bellefontaine; four sisters, Martha (Phil) Myers of Holland, Rose Marie (Bill) Slemmons of Wyoming, OH, Frances Core of Bluffton and Ruth Ann Early of Bluffton; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Underwood Funeral Home where the family will receive friends 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Pastor Collin Monger will officiate.
