Frank James Shreve, age 83, of Marysville, died Monday, September 17, 2018 at The Ohio State University Ross Heart Hospital. He was a retired finish painter and worked in building and construction for almost 40 years. He was also a former associate of Eljer Plumbingware and worked for the Central Railroad in the 1950’s. Of the Baptist faith, he liked serving his church as a bus driver and mechanic. He also sang in the church choir and was an officer, usher and chef. He enjoyed restoring cars, furniture making, playing his harmonica and riding his scooter. His favorite destinations were Frisch’s and the Goodwill store. He was born June 6, 1935 in Cincinnati to the late Irving and Augusta LaWarre Shreve. He was also preceded in death by his wife of many years, Doris Dowell Shreve; an infant daughter, Tina Louise Shreve; a son, Clarence Shreve; and nine siblings. Frank is survived by his children, Terry (Deb) Shreve of Marysville, Tammy (John) Kessler of Marysville, Rick (Diana) Shreve of Richwood, Carla (Steve) Simpson of Milford Center, Mike (Rosa) Shreve of Marysville, Lisa (Larry) Preece of Marysville, Kelly (Steve) Ginter of Palatka, Florida; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Shreve of Milford Center; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; his sister, Shirley (Red) Bell of Tipp City; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Underwood Funeral Home where the family will receive friends beginning at 2 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 12 noon Friday at Claibourne Cemetery.
