Frank Edward Cooper, age 95, of Marysville, died Thursday, November 29, 2018 at his home. He retired in 1988 as a manager from Grauman Flexible Industries in Delaware. He was a former associate of North American Aviation in Columbus. He grew up on the family farm in Wild Cat Pike near New Bloomington, Marion County where he graduated from Meeker High School. He loved to brag about how he was the best looking and smartest guy in his class (being the only boy in his high school class.) A “tinkerer”, he enjoyed playing electronics and on the piano and organ. His greatest joy was his racing motorcycles. With his success in flat-track racing, he was named to the Motorcycle Racing Hall of Fame in Westerville. He and his wife, Patty, were also life members of the American Motorcycle Association and the Kenton Lightning Riders. He was a member of Asbury Baptist Church. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting. Always friendly and approachable, he will be remembered as a jokester and great story-teller. He was born September 1, 1923 in Marion County, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles Edward and Allie Mae Patton Cooper. He was also preceded in death by his former wives, Ann P. Hudyk Cooper, Katherine F. Woyan Cooper and Eileen Oldham Cooper; a daughter-in-law, Janet Cooper; a brother-in-law, Charles Woyan; a sister-in-law, Ruth Holbrook; and a step-son-in-law, Michael DeMatteo. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Patricia Ann Finley Cooper, whom he married October 23, 1993; his children, Frank E. “Butch” Cooper of Ft. Myers, Florida, Dennis (Linda) Cooper of Springhill, Florida, Diana (Paris) Salyers of Marysville, Sandra (Greg) LaRocca of Bartlett, Illinois, Cheryl (Tom Veit) DeMatteo of Morral, Ed (Juanita) Angelbeck of Washington, Russell (Sherie) Angelbeck of Dublin, Kathy (Rick McCoy) Williams of Marysville, Don (LeeAnn) Angelbeck of Marysville; many grandchildren, Michael, Cheryl, Stephanie, Tammy, Charlie, Christopher, Curtis, Sutton, Heather, Anita, Kathleen, Matt, Lori, Polly, Timothy, Heather, Carissa, Heath, Audrey, Nikki, Meagan, Misty, Travis and Tyler; many great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren; his brothers-in-law, Eugene Finley and Dick Holbrook; and many nieces and nephews, including A. C. Gibson of Pickerington; and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, December 3, 2018 at Underwood Funeral Home where the family will receive friends beginning at 11 a.m. Rev. James Lykins will officiate and interment will be at Oakdale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Windsor and Community Seniors, Inc. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
